LAS VEGAS — Raider Nation needs to pay close attention to the schedule as Las Vegas prepares for a critical Week 5 road matchup against the New England Patriots.
The Raiders are heading across the country to Gillette Stadium for a game that could provide an immediate response following their first defeat of the season.
Las Vegas opened 2026 with three consecutive victories.
Then came Kansas City.
The Raiders battled the Chiefs in a dramatic Week 4 contest but ultimately suffered a 30–27 defeat, dropping Las Vegas to 3–1.
Now there is no time to dwell on it.
New England is waiting.
THE RAIDERS HAVE A RESPONSE TO MAKE
One loss doesn’t define a season.
How a team responds to that loss can.
Las Vegas had built considerable momentum through its first three games, beating Miami 27–13, the Los Angeles Chargers 26–14 and New Orleans 35–27.
The Chiefs finally stopped that run.
But a 3–1 start still gives the Raiders an opportunity to establish themselves as one of the AFC’s dangerous early-season teams.
Beating New England on the road would reinforce that belief.
GILLETTE STADIUM PRESENTS A DIFFERENT CHALLENGE
This isn’t Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders won’t have their home crowd behind them.
Instead, they will enter Foxborough needing to handle the environment and prevent the Patriots from controlling the emotional rhythm of the game.
That makes the opening quarter particularly important.
Las Vegas cannot give New England cheap opportunities.
Turnovers, penalties and special-teams mistakes can transform a manageable road game into a four-quarter fight.
THE SCHEDULE MATTERS FOR RAIDER NATION
The official Raiders listing currently has the game scheduled for Sunday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific — 1:00 p.m. Eastern — on CBS.
That early Pacific kickoff is important for Raiders supporters.
This isn’t the normal afternoon window many West Coast fans associate with Las Vegas football.
Fans planning watch parties or Sunday activities should keep the kickoff window in mind.
LAS VEGAS NEEDS TO REGAIN MOMENTUM
The Raiders have another major matchup coming immediately afterward, with Buffalo visiting Las Vegas in Week 6.
That makes New England even more important.
Las Vegas does not want to enter the Bills game carrying consecutive defeats.
Instead, the Raiders have an opportunity to respond immediately.
Go into Foxborough.
Play disciplined football.
Control the football.
Finish drives.
And prove that the Kansas City defeat was only one difficult Sunday — not the beginning of a slide.
